Operation and maintenance for floating wind turbines: A review
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper reviews the existing literature surrounding floating offshore wind (FOW) operations and maintenance (O&M) models. A review of technology is presented with a comparison current practise for bottom-fixed O&M activities. article divides publications into following categories: cost modelling, safety/limiting factors. case studies used within these shows trends towards development in Northern Europe. Factors considered during modelling are discussed levelised energy results three main types support structure. The key inputs FOW applications identified then analysed detailing differences between applications. Finally, detail impact motion turbine on activities discussed. Key areas research details gaps recommendations future work.

Conceptual Design of Floating Wind Turbines
The need for different numerical models with varying degrees of simplification for the conceptual design of a floating offshore wind turbine is the focus of this paper. While parts on the component level can be designed apart from the others the overall dynamics on the system level have to be assessed from the beginning. Starting with very simple models and identifying the significant contribut...
متن کاملAn occupational risk assessment approach for construction and operation period of wind turbines
As wind energy is one of the most important renewable energy sources over the globe, need for increasing safety for this type of energy is gaining importance. Although this sector is not suffering an excessive amount of fatal injury accidents, there are many aspects open for improvements in occupational health and safety management. The construction and operation processes of wind turbines incl...
متن کاملTowards Reliability Centred Maintenance of Wind Turbines
Reliability centred maintenance applied to a fleet of wind turbines is presented in this paper. The key components and failure modes are identified via analysis of maintenance records. Corrective actions which an operator can take to mitigate such failures are discussed, together with implementation issues. By developing a robust set of RCM tools, wind farm operators can better quantify and min...
متن کاملSHM of Floating Offshore Wind Turbines— Challenges and First Solutions
The paper presents an integrated SHM-system for floater, moorings, tower, nacelle and rotor blades. Its core is based on a multivariate SHM-system for rotor blades with three different measuring techniques accompanied by appropriate signal processing approaches: Acoustic Emission (AE) is used for identification of relative small damages at the whole blade, e.g. bursts of fibres, cracks of bon...
متن کاملNonlinear Model Predictive Control of Floating Wind Turbines
In this work a nonlinear model predictive control method for a floating wind turbine is presented. A reduced nonlinear model including disturbance preview of wind and waves is derived and implemented to compute optimal input trajectories for collective pitch and the generator torque. A cost functional is introduced which fulfills all desired constraints and controller goals for above rated wind...
